We decided to mix things up a bit this past weekend by heading out to Hot Springs, AR for a little southern rock bouncing action. Last Saturday marked the Southern Rock Racing Series (SRRS) finals, and word was a few Ultra4 rigs with Spider 9 axles were leading the series in points. We’ve seen the photos and videos from these events, and knew one day we had to see it in person. So, we packed our bags and headed south.

It was an awesome experience to say the least. First and foremost, we have to thank Ty Turner and the entire SRRS gang for making us feel welcome. They really did roll out the red carpet, spending a lot of time showing us around the park and leading us through the event. As far as the event itself, it was pretty straight forward. Two main obstacles (one rock trail and one hill climb) made up the competition part, with “Showtime Hill” added at the end for those willing to take the challenge. It is true, as insane as the photos & videos are they really don’t do it justice.

When the dust settled, the clean and precise runs of Peter Basler in his BTF Ultra4 Spider 9 powered racer (pictured above) were enough to win the entire SRRS series. There were a few other Ultra4s out in the pack of over 30 rock bouncers, so we’ll be sure to showcase a few throughout the week right here on the blog. For now, we’ll sign off with a congratulation to Peter for a solid weekend & series finish.
