Thru the snow-capped mountains of Colorado, on a mission for warmer racing weather, we’re on our way to southern California’s premium Ultra4 event, The Glen Helen Grand Prix. Have you heard, there’s over 70 drivers showing up for this Saturday’s race? “It’s going to be big” would be an understatement, outside of King of the Hammers this race is shaping up to be the largest Ultra4 event of the year. It’s that time of year again, where racers and rigs alike get ready for one of the biggest SoCal competitions of the year. The 2013 4 Wheel Parts The Glen Helen Grand Prix kicks off next Saturday, the 25th of May, and already has more register drivers then any Glen Helen Grand Prix from years past. That’s 74 drivers all in all, battling it out in a 2 hour short course style race that’s guaranteed to deliver. It’s going to be one insane weekend.
Schedule of events are as follows:
Thursday, May 23rd
• 9AM – 10PM – Gates open for pits/trailers to arrive
Friday May 24th
• 8AM-12PM & 1PM-3PM – ULTRA4 Tech Inspection/Registration
• 9AM – Drivers meeting for 4 Wheel Parts Glen Helen Grand Prix drivers planning on practicing/qualifying on Friday
• 10AM-12PM – Practice
• 12PM-1PM – Lunch
• 1PM-3PM – Qualfiying
• 4PM – Drivers meeting w/ qualifying order announced
• 10PM – Gates close to camping/pit area. Gates re-open at 7AM
Saturday, May 25th
• 10AM – 11:30AM 4 Wheel Parts Glen Helen Grand Prix UTV & Stock Class Race
• 12PM – 1PM Autograph signing session
• 1:30PM – 4PM 4 Wheel Parts Glen Helen Grand Prix ULTRA4 and Mod Race – 2 hours of racing and a 30 minute break for track maintenance.
• 4:30PM Awards followed by celebration (stay tuned for party details)
