Is there a better way to spend your Father’s Day weekend, rock racing along the beautiful Rocky Mountain landscape of colorful Colorado? Well, doing that and grabbing a number of top podium finishes… yes that would be even better. The Lovell brothers are indeed back, showing the world once again why they are the best at what they do. This weekend marked something a little different though, back to back rock & short course events had the brothers split up, with Roger taking the wheel of their Ultra4 rock racer in Colorado Springs, CO (above) and Brad taking the wheel of their Pro Light racer in Bark River, Michigan.
As of this post, the dust hasn’t yet settled as Brad still has one race left today. But, as it stands, Roger grabbed himself a 1st place Dirt Riot finish on Saturday with Brad grabbing himself and 2nd & 3rd place Torc Pro Light finish Friday and Saturday. Three big finishes for the brothers, pushing them back on top as the 2013 season progresses. A huge congrats to both Roger & Brad and the entire Lovell Racing team.
Well, it is Father’s Day after all, and with three kids of my own waiting to start the festivities, I best sign off. We have a number of photos from Saturday’s Dirt Riot Mountain 2 race, and we’ll be sure to share them throughout the week, as we do in typical fashion. Happy Father’s Day everyone, make it a great one and we’ll see you again tomorrow.
