If you haven’t already, be sure to check out our King of Portugal race recap over on Drivingline, http://bit.ly/2014kop and while you’re there, hit that love/favorite heart icon of theirs toward the bottom of the page, let them know how much we all dig Ultra4 racing. In that writeup, we touched on the things that stood out most to us, and included 20 of our favorite shots from the race. Being one of the best race courses in the entire Ultra4 series, we just couldn’t leave the photo set there. Too many cool shots to still share, so if you’re up for it, we’ll be blasting out a few more photos this week as well. Kicking things off is Sylvain Bessiere, navigating his way thru the entrance of Dinosaur Eggs, the hardest and coolest natural rock section outside of King of the Hammers.

Our latest article, “A New King is Born”, just made its way to DrivingLine. Head over to http://www.drivingline.com/2014/10/ultra4-europe-2014-king-of-portugal/ and check out the story & photo set. As one of the best races of the year, with easily the best rocks outside of King of the Hammers, the article is worth the read.
Of course, we also need to sneak in a HUGE congrats to Levi Shirley for taking the win last weekend. That makes the young racer the winner of King of the Mountains, King of the Valleys, and now the King of Portugal. In addition, the win last weekend secured Levi’s 1st place finish for the entire Ultra4 European season! We are insanely proud to be working with Levi and his family, it’s been a great year to say the least!
On Location
Just a little iPhone shot from this morning’s walk of the King of Portugal race course. The green flag drops in roughly 2 hours, with US’s own Levi Shirley in the pole position. It’s going to be two days of the harshest European racing this year’s Ultra4 series has dished out. Best of luck to all drivers and teams, we’ll see you out there!

We’re just three days away from another internationally “King of the Hammers inspired” Ultra4 competition. King of Portugal takes place this Saturday, September 14th, and guess who’s paying a visit? That’s right, Levi Shirley is heading down to Portugal as we write this post, continuing on his World Tour having just taken 3rd place at last month’s King of the Valleys. No doubt this is going to be one exciting and competitive race, be sure to keep an eye on the King of Portugal Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/King-of-Portugal/217587441713719 . Best of luck to Levi and the entire Lucky Dog Racing team, we’ll be cheering you on from the States!
