If you’re not one of those guys shipping last-minute parts to the lake bed, you’re certainly friends with one. It happens, we’ve all been there. Last minute tweaks, minor changes, major changes — a lot can happen in the days leading up to the big King of the Hammers race day. Each and every year, Wheeler’s Ship it Shop is there to ease our pain.

This post is more of a PSA than anything else, a reminder for those that don’t know or simply forgot, Wheeler’s Ship it Shop is located just outside Hammertown and offers a service to receive your inbound shipments needed for KOH. They charge just a few dollars per package, depending on the weight, and are open all week-long from 10am to 4pm PST (often later as we near race day).

To use their service, inbound shipments can be sent to the following address with your name as the attention:

Wheeler’s Ship it Shop
51720 Hacienda Road
Johnson Valley, CA 92285
(760) 364-3392

Pay the few dollars per package they charge at the time of pickup, and you can be on your merry racing way. Enjoy your race prep weekend of course, and for those that need a reminder the 2016 King of the Hammers week starts in just 21 days.

Time to review that holiday checklist. No, we’re not talking about the food still needed or where your relatives are going to sit — racing is what fuels our brains. There’s a few bits to cover before we take off for the holiday so let’s dive right in.

  1. Holiday Closure – We will be closed Thursday & Friday for Thanksgiving (November 26th & 27th). Website will be running full steam, but in-stock orders placed during that time would ship on Monday the 30th.
  2. Black Friday Sale – Yesterday, our 2013 Black Friday Sale was the #1 trending blog post, today it’s #2. So, for those wondering what we have in-store for 2015, what we can reveal is this. There WILL BE a Black Friday Weekend long sale, starting this Friday and ending Monday. The details of our sale will remain quite for now, but they should not disappoint. Be sure to check back then.
  3. Axle Shafts for KOH – The start of King of the Hammers is just 66 days away, but who’s counting. For those needing spare axle shafts, or main shafts for that matter, our next axle shaft cut off is November 30th. Orders placed between now and November 30th will ship by December 31st. ANY SHAFT ORDERS PLACED IN DECEMBER WOULD SHIP FEBRUARY 1ST. So, best to get that order in by next Monday, otherwise it’s going to be an uncomfortably tight deadline come KOH race day Friday.

With that, for those in the states we do hope you have an amazing Thanksgiving.

Mark your calendars, 2016 KOH date released.

And just like that, we now have an official date for the 2016 Nitto King of the Hammers. Marking its 10th year of racing at its finest, King of the Hammers is THE race that kicks off the season, it’s the largest off-road race in North America, it’s Christmas that comes in the beginning of the year… it’s a race that can’t be missed. Oh, for that date… got carried away there. Hammertown opens for drivers on Friday 1/29 with the 2016 Nitto King of The Hammers taking place on Friday, February 5th, 2016.

Mark those calendars, 134 days and counting.
