Jake Hallenbeck is no stranger to rock sports, but 2013 marked his first year with Ultra4. It didn’t take him very long to get comfortable with the mixed style of rock crawling and rock racing Ultra4 brings; when the dust settled at last weekend’s Nitto National Championship, Jake earned himself the Dynomax Rookie of the Year award, finishing 6th in series points. Congrats to Jake and his Marked Motorsports crew!

Although not his first year of racing, we’d say if there was a break out year for Wayland Campbell, this was it. Son of rock racing legend Shannon Campbell, Wayland has gotten faster and faster with each and every race. There aren’t many drivers that, when you’re on course shooting photos, make you step back a few feet as they fly by. Shannon is one of those drivers, Wayland is now the other. As the season came to a close last Saturday, Wayland grabbed 3rd for the weekend’s National Championship and earned himself a 2nd place finish for the 2013 Ultra4 National Series, which by any standard is nothing short of amazing. Congrats again to Wayland, and the entire Campbell Racing team.

Derek West had an incredible run for the 2013 Ultra4 season. He finished last weekend’s Nationals Championship in 5th place, giving him a 4th place overall series finish and even better, a 1st place East Coast series finish. Congrats to Derek West, co-driverĀ JasonĀ Henne, and the entire team for another great year!
