Since the start of the week, and the days that will follow, we’ve been taking extreme social distancing to new levels. Employees are required to be at least six feet from each other with zero exception; in practice, we are more than double that. Suppliers must follow the same six feet rule when delivering parts. We have closed our offices for walk-ins. Sales is working from home. Shifts are staggered over a full 24hr period. Daily and weekly cleaning schedules are in full effect, with additional deep cleaning schedules now added. All in the name of helping reduce the spread of COVID-19 for the safety of our employees, customers, and suppliers.
While operations are not 100%, our team is happy to be operational. Phones are open, machines are running, and our warehouse is doing what they do best. It is an honor to continue the work we do with each and every one of you, and we thank you for that. Best safe, and be smart.
Walking the floor this morning, I caught our latest axle shaft run in the final stages of straightening and inspection. There were two shafts caught my eye, as shown here. On the left, a 36 spline H1 CV axle shaft for a JHF portal and on the right, a 45 spline gun drilled axle shaft for a Miller Motorsports Pro Chassis. There’s a shaft for every occasion, and we’re happy making the best off-road axle shafts for each and every one.
It’s Easter Jeep Safari week, and there is nothing else like it! For those making the trip out to Moab this year, be sure to swing by the Spanish Trail Arena for the Vendor Expo this Thursday and Friday. We’ll have on display all the new things we’ve been working hard on these past twelve months, including our soon to be released Spider 9 trussing and armor kits, our latest Pro Series IFS and 45 Splined Unit Bearings, and a sneak-peak of our latest Pro Series U-Joints which are in the wild and doing amazing.
With that, our phones will be off this Wednesday thru Friday. We’ll be responding to support cases and emails within a business day, and all online orders will be shipping as normal (same day by 2pm MST). Look forward to seeing everyone out there!
This year will mark our 20th Moab Easter Jeep Safari, which is still hard to image. As they say, time flies when you’re having fun. From day one, we’ve used the Moab Easter Jeep Safari Vendor Show as a place to show off all that’s new at Spidertrax, giving a peak at things we are both working on behind the scenes as well as those products soon to be released. This year is no exception.
Pictured here is a sneak-peak of a product line we’ve been itching to produce for some time. Welded Spider 9s, complete with ends, trussing & armor, will be on display this year with a targeted release date of Spring of this year (so very soon). We couldn’t be more excited to add this service to the Spider 9 line, and we can’t wait to show it off in Moab.
Outside of Moab prep, we’re rocking production this week in typical fashion. Another round of axle shafts are being heat treated now, custom offset Spider 9 housings are getting wrapped up for yet another movie set, more prototype Pro Series U-Joint bodies are in the CNC getting some final work before heat treat, and wheel spacers are rocking in typical wheel spacer fashion.
With that, we do hope you make it an amazing week!
I’ll be the first to admit, it’s been awhile since we’ve posted. Things are busier than ever, so busy in fact we haven’t been posting! Going to try and get into the habit of posting on the blog at least once a week and on other platforms (Instagram, Facebook) everyday (time permitting). Oddly enough, I do find these posts helpful for my own production & product planning, so no excuse not to share what we have going on.
Production is in full swing this week. We kicked off this week on Sunday night, as our wheels spacers (Toyota in particular) have been selling like crazy. While those are running, pictured here are our IFS diff shafts which will be finding their way into a few light tactical military vehicles soon enough. The new ST-20Y is shinning with these, two opts and the shafts are ready for heat treat. Took 3 machines before to pull off the same product!
The week will round out with production starting on our Ultimate Knuckle High Steer Arms, which have been backordered too long. Chromoly material has been harder and harder to get these days, even purchasing 9 months in advance isn’t enough is some cases! Will be nice to get these machined and off to heat treat.
With that, hope everyone has an amazing week. Back to work we go!
