This shot is of Greg Lundeen, flying through the trees during last weekend’s Brawl in Blackwell qualifying. Although Greg didn’t finish the final race, he earned enough series points to secure his place in the 2013 King of the Hammers. Guess we’ll see Greg again in February :) .

There’s nothing like a 170+ mile race that comes down to the final minutes. The PSC Brawl in Blackwell, otherwise known as the Ultra4 Nationals, was without a doubt one of the most exciting races of the year. Taking place on the 5000+ acre Texana Ranch, the unique Texas terrain had a little bit of everything to offer Ultra4s. Rocks, fast sections, tight turns, even Zebras and Camels, all lined the 45 mile race, 4 lap, race course that didn’t disappoint. Attrition and speed were once again the determining factors, and in the end with an under 3 minute lead, Jason Scherer and his Spidertrax IFS powered racer took the win.
In typical fashion, we’ll be sharing some photos from last weekends race throughout the week, right here on our blog. We’ll kick things off with this photo of Jason Scherer’s Ultra4, lined up in the pole position early race morning. Here’s the complete finishing breakdown, courtesy of Ultra4Racing.com.
