While we count the days to the start of the 2016 King of the Hammers (just 71 days!), let’s not forget that KOH is just the start of the 2016 Ultra4 racing season. Ultra4 has officially released next years racing schedule (pictured here) and we are in for another amazing year. No crazy surprises or upsets here, it’s pretty much an identical repeat of our 2015 season. The only officially ironed out bit for 2016 is the commitment to the VORRA 250, which was added after the fact in 2015.

With that, for you computer nerds we have a published version of the complete racing schedule HERE. Should work nicely with your favorite calendar program, best not to miss a race after all.

That’s it for today, have a great weekend!

Addicted to billet.

It seems we are addicted to billet. Nearly everything (maybe everything come to think of it) we manufacture is out of domestic grade billet material. Forgings do have their place, and we have a number of products where forgings would traditionally be considered “the ideal way to manufacture”. Extreme racing (and crawling) push those boundaries though, even the slightest material imperfections can make the difference between 1st and last. We work with only the purest billet materials, from 6061 to 300M and beyond. It’s not the most cost-effective way to go, but it’s the best in terms of quality and reliability. With that, back to work we go.

Oh, and in case you were wondering… the in production parts pictured here WILL BE THESE.

Spider 9 IFS in a JK? You bet!

November 13th2015

SEMA never disappoints. Wes and the folks over at Amanda have been busy crafting something very unique for this year’s SEMA, and we couldn’t help but share. This video shows off a prototype JK IFS suspension, using Spider 9 IFS components, and without a question this one wins the “thinking outside of the box” award. Sort of a hybrid between a TTB & a-arm suspension, with one goal in mind — packaging as much travel as possible into the smallest space possible. In the end, they pulled off 16″ of front wheel travel into a very tight space, and it’s just a cool thing to see. Hope you enjoy this one, with that make it a great weekend!

Just received a press release from Jesse Haines, and wow did it feel like a trip down memory lane. All in a good way of course — Jesse has never stopped pushing rock crawling competitions and this latest press is even more evidence to that. He and his newly formed Silver State Rock Crawling event have acquired the rights to SuperCrawl. Yes, SuperCrawl, from the UROC days of past. I’d link to a UROC photo set if I had one, but this was well before I picked up my first camera. It was quite some time ago, but the memories of those SuperCrawl competitions are still fresh in the mind, and this blast from the past is getting the adrenaline flowing once again for rock crawling.

With that, congratulations to Jesse and Silver State Rock Crawling, we are excited to see the movement continue and can’t wait to get out to rock crawling once again. Jesse’s official press release has been included below, with that enjoy the weekend!

Silver State Rock Crawling Acquires Rights to SuperCrawl
November 3, 2015

In an effort to expand the appeal of the Silver State Rock Crawling Championship to a national and global market, Silver State Rock Crawling has acquired the rights to SuperCrawl. Established in 2002, SuperCrawl was the first rock crawling world championship, and reigned as the sport’s premier event until SuperCrawl V in 2006. Silver State Rock Crawling owner, Jesse Haines purchased the rights to SuperCrawl from UROC owner, Ranch Pratt.

Haines said, “I’m really excited about the future of this event. The inaugural SSRCC was a huge success, and the return of SuperCrawl is going to help take our efforts to the next level.”

In September 2016, the Silver State Rock Crawling Championship will operate in conjunction with the SuperCrawl World Championship at Wild West Motorsports Park in Reno, NV.
