It was a rough weekend for Brad Lovell and his team. Having placed 4th on Saturday, things seemed in-line for a Sunday podium finish. Off the line, Brad took the hole shot and lead that pack of over 20 Pro Lights into turn one. His luck changed however as he got tangled up with another racer, causing damage to his oil tank. The fire that resulted from this damage was enough to end Sunday’s race, leaving Brad with a DNF. Things could be worse though. Brad’s rig will be ready for the final TORC race of the season later this month, and he is still sitting in 3rd for series points.

The Lovell’s got a little air time last weekend, and some much-needed makeover love for their RV, on Travel Channel’s Rock My RV with Bret Michaels. It was an awesome show to watch, and we know the Lovell’s are excited to get a bad ass RV to match their already bad ass team. For those that missed last weekend’s episode, you can grab a copy of the show (for a small fee) on iTunes HERE. There may be other places to watch as well, but we know the iTunes link is a solid one.
The timing of this makeover couldn’t have been better. Brad Lovell and team Lovell Racing are off to Crandon International Off Road Raceway (Crandon, WI) this weekend for round 14 of Traxxas TORC short course racing. Brad is currently in 3rd place for the season with his Spider 9 powered Pro Light, so the heat is on as we near the end of the season. We’ll be making the journey out to Crandon as well, and we’ll be sure to share a few photos from our trip. Until then, best of luck to Brad and the entire team, we’ll be cheering your on!

We met up with Brad Lovell last weekend, right before the kickoff of Amsoil’s Arenacross competition in Denver, CO. Of course, as luck would have it, Brad was showing off his new TORC Pro Light racer and we just so happened to have our camera along with us. Brad will be defending his 2012 Pro Light Champion title this year, kicking off the new season on March 22nd at Primm Off Road Raceway (Primm, NV). With a full week of posting King of the Hammers after race photos, we’re a bit late with this announcement. But, as some say, better late than never. If you haven’t received your recent copy of Dirt Sports magazine, go out and get one, as this latest issue has something pretty cool in store. Brad Lovell, last year’s champion of both the TORC Pro Light Series and Ultra4 Pro Series, was named the Dirt Sports driver of the year. We’ve been working with Brad and his team Lovell Racing for years, and couldn’t be any more excited for this well deserved honor. Congrats Brad and team Lovell Racing, we’re looking forward to another great year of racing!

Today’s photo installment show’s off Brad Lovell, taking on Crandon’s legendary turn 1 during TORC’s 2012 Round 5 competition. He took 1st at this race, which set the stage for his TORC series win.
