Inside the Shop — Pro Series IFS Axle Shaft Preview

Walking the shop floor yesterday, we couldn’t help snapping this picture of a few IFS shafts lined up. Front left to right, we have a 35 spline & 40 spline diff shaft, followed by our latest Pro Series 45 spline stub and 56 spline stub shafts. It seems like only yesterday that 35 spline axles were the big upgrade!

Our latest Pro Series IFS line takes advantage of a significantly larger unit bearing, allowing for shafts greater than 40 spline. The 45 spline axle shaft (third in from left) works with our Pro Series Unit Bearing, while the 56 spline axle shaft (last one on right) works with our Pro Series Compact Unit Bearing. This compact bearing is 1” more compact from WMS to CV centerline, and packs the best strength to weight ratio in class.

While we wrap up some small final bits and get the website photography out of the way, for those looking to build now give us a call. The majority of our Pro Series IFS components are already in-stock and ready to ship, and we’re always happy to design a custom estimate to fit your build and budget.

It’s Easter Jeep Safari week, and there is nothing else like it! For those making the trip out to Moab this year, be sure to swing by the Spanish Trail Arena for the Vendor Expo this Thursday and Friday. We’ll have on display all the new things we’ve been working hard on these past twelve months, including our soon to be released Spider 9 trussing and armor kits, our latest Pro Series IFS and 45 Splined Unit Bearings, and a sneak-peak of our latest Pro Series U-Joints which are in the wild and doing amazing.

With that, our phones will be off this Wednesday thru Friday. We’ll be responding to support cases and emails within a business day, and all online orders will be shipping as normal (same day by 2pm MST). Look forward to seeing everyone out there!

This year will mark our 20th Moab Easter Jeep Safari, which is still hard to image. As they say, time flies when you’re having fun. From day one, we’ve used the Moab Easter Jeep Safari Vendor Show as a place to show off all that’s new at Spidertrax, giving a peak at things we are both working on behind the scenes as well as those products soon to be released. This year is no exception.

Pictured here is a sneak-peak of a product line we’ve been itching to produce for some time. Welded Spider 9s, complete with ends, trussing & armor, will be on display this year with a targeted release date of Spring of this year (so very soon). We couldn’t be more excited to add this service to the Spider 9 line, and we can’t wait to show it off in Moab.

Outside of Moab prep, we’re rocking production this week in typical fashion. Another round of axle shafts are being heat treated now, custom offset Spider 9 housings are getting wrapped up for yet another movie set, more prototype Pro Series U-Joint bodies are in the CNC getting some final work before heat treat, and wheel spacers are rocking in typical wheel spacer fashion.

With that, we do hope you make it an amazing week!

After an insane qualifying rollover, Loren would go on to win the MetalCloak Stampede 4400 followed by Paul Horschel, JP Gomez, Mike Bergman, Raul Gomez, and Darren Henke. That’s a top 6 for Spider 9 IFS axles & components, always love seeing that!

Another cool thing a bit more behind the scenes, Loren and Paul are also powered by our upcoming Pro Series IFS line. Set to be released Spring of this year, our new Pro Series IFS line is going to push the boundaries of Ultra4 racing even further, stay tuned for more details.

With that, we’re going to make it a great week here. Congrats to all top finishers last weekend, can’t wait for the next race!
